Job Details:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility is to maintain the books and records of the hospital with limited supervision in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The individual is also responsible to assist the Sr. Accounting staff in the preparation of monthly financial statements from the hospital’s statistical and financial data for review by the Director. Other tasks include organization of the Annual Operating Budget and assistance with the Annual Audit and ICR preparation on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing & Posting of manual and standard Journal Entries
  • Maintain accurate and timely General Ledger worksheets for review by management
  • Update Audit work papers for Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Production of bi-weekly FTE reports for all assigned entities for manager analysis
  • Completes timely and accurate bank reconciliations for all assigned cash accounts on a monthly basis
  • Maintains monthly billing and reconciliation of 3rd party physicians for all assigned entities
  • Maintains and reconciles monthly shared service analysis to G/L for all assigned entities on a monthly basis
  • Production of bi-weekly Flash Reports for HealthAlliance Hospitals
  • Accurate daily tracking of cash balances and production of cash summary reports and projections for each entity
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Education:

    Bachelors Degree, required in accounting or finance.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years required.
  • Solid accounting background; preferably in healthcare industry
