Supervises and administers preliminary function tests and respiratory therapy to patients as prescribed by a physician;Supervises and sets up the use of all respiratory therapy equipment; provides continued support to bedside staff, responds to every code/Rapid response/code StrokePerforms adult ventilator management for MRI’s patientsMonitors all respiratory therapy patients to ensure that physician instructions are implemented; ensures meeting regulatory standards with order sets. Currently compliance reported to Quality Committee Ventilator order compliance below 90% in adult ICU’sMaintains a complete record-keeping system of the daily use, management and upkeep ofthe respiratory therapy equipment and blood gas analyzers within our nine labsMaintains a complete record-keeping system of use and upkeep of the Nitric therapy use and equipment; ensures correct billing is documented and bills accordingly.Ensure an adequate supplies of oxygen and other therapeutic gases is maintained for the campus; visually ensures storage of gases is within regulatory standards at all timesConsults with physicians, nurses and other staffon respiratory therapy mattersProvides continued in-service education for the department and all other clinical staff; RN/MDSupervises the implementation of departmental policy and procedures:Oversees equipment maintenance and care daily; MLE training and in-serviceMaintains adequate amounts of supplies; non PPM supplies ie: blood gas, NICU subcutaneous, NITRIC suppliesMaintains departmental statistics; for daily and proj ected needs ie: appropriate staffing, assignment and patient care deliveredInsures the department’s conformance to quality assurance standards;


Associates Required

Licenses / Certifications:

Registered Respiratory Therapist with minimal 10 year critical care experience, NICU/PICU preferred
