Job Summary The Assistant VP of Patient Financial Services will assist with overall strategy, optimization, implementation and performance measurement of revenue cycle operations for the WMCHealth Network.
Promote revenue cycle improvements throughout the organization including working with appropriate individuals in medical records, billing, revenue integrity, denial management to aid in the resolution of identified revenue cycle issues Perform ongoing trend analysis on third party payer payment levels to ensure reimbursement is in accordance with allowable amounts stated in agreements and contracts Create and implement strategies to maximize revenue by providing best practice support for efficient processing of patient registrations and scheduling of appointments. Review claims for appropriate payments and if necessary follow up with payers Responsible for all administrative functions that contribute to the management and execution of insurance verification, authorization, pre-registration and financial counseling of inpatient and outpatient services. Works with staff to asses, review and approve daily work-queues, which include the following: Registration/Authorizations, AR follow up, Charity approval, Adjustments approvals, Refund approvals, Denial adjustments, charity requests, refunds and other applicable work-queues Prepare monthly analysis reports pertaining to Accounts Receivable Review current workflows for process improvement to ensure compliance with state and federal policies Implement and monitor collection procedures, minimizing contractual and bad debt write offs, and maximizing cash collections Develop and adhere to approved budget by maintaining business unit operations Set goals, communicate expectations to staff, and follow-up with leadership team as needed Maintain effective communication with other Revenue Cycle departments Report status trends to senior leadership Additional Responsibilities Completes annual performance reviews for direct report employees. Conduct revenue cycle meetings as needed and follow up with other Revenue cycle leadership regarding deliverables. Provides for management, development, and recruitment of personnel for Revenue Cycle Services. Holds monthly staff meetings. Demonstrate effective departmental leadership and provide appropriate direction to the staff Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum 7 years in a revenue cycle supervisory role within a large healthcare organization Up to date on all Federal and State regulations related to billing and insurance
Bachelor’s Degree Special Requirements: Travel required to various WMCHealth Locations
