Job Details:
Reporting to the Senior System Director Perioperative Services. In collaboration with the Unit Managers, provides proactive analysis oversight, and direction in the area of financial management for all matters including Revenue, Expenses and Capital for assigned units in perioperative setting in all three sites but resides in the Orange County. Collaborates and implements the necessary action plans to accomplish the duties and responsibilities in a collaborative fashion throughout the system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates activities to include charges, budget preparation, and reconcile invoices to verify all cost center are assigned correctly; is responsible for ensuring cost assignments are within budget; and will assist each manager with variance analysis and other budgetary issues.
- Works with Senior System Director on business plan development for Perioperative Surgical Services, including a cost benefit analyses, and monitoring for capital equipment expenditures/budgets.
- Monitors the surgical charge process for Perioperative Services.
- Practices fiscal accountability. Encourages unit managers accountability by involving them in budget preparations, identifying ideas for increasing efficiency, cost savings, developing and growing the business and existing services.
- Compiles and oversees monthly statistical information that reflects surgical charges.
- Meet monthly with the surgical services management team to review reports on productivity, revenue, expenses, and variances.
- Works with supply chain and unit managers to set up and monitor contractual items and requirements are met.
- Advises the Senior System Director on fiscal matters and represents him/her at system locations and acts on their behalf in the rendering of business decisions.
- Work with Senior System Director and unit managers on capital budgets / request, for each department. Keep team up to date on time frame on capital purchases and requests.
- Develops and recommends short- and long-term goals for Perioperative Services and formulates a plan of resources and timelines to successfully achieve these goals.
- Prepares project scope, financial forecast, volume projections and capital expenses for any new project within the hospital or system. Ensures that there exists accurate revenue capture for the department.
- Provides information and input, and formulates recommendations into the development of patient charges, and current and new perioperative services.
- Serves as an administrative resource person for specific projects and demographic data necessary to prepare CONs, special projects, etc.
- Works with Nursing Leadership for preparation Joint Commission
- Completes budget variance reports and delineates reasons for variances.
- Manages business of the Department within budgetary guidelines.
- Responsible for fiscal profitability of Perioperative Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Operating Room experience preferred. Materials Management experience. Five to seven years of experience in Perioperative Services or Healthcare setting that emphasized planning and analyzing data. Developing and monitoring budgets. Working with all levels of the organization.
Education: Master’s degree in business, health sciences or health care administration required.
