Under supervision of a higher level professional nurse, theWound & Ostomy nurse will be assigned to perform and assist with assessments, interventions, and evaluations for patients with actual or potential wound/ostomy problems.. She/he performs all required elements of a nursing assessment considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering care, establishes goals and a strategy for meeting the discharge or continuing care needs of the patient and family noted on the multidisciplinary plan of care. Care is provided in collaboration with other nursing staff members.License:Current licensure in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association. Other certifications as required in aspecialty area.Training and
one year of professional nursing experience.
