The Info Desk Rep is responsible for managing the communication network of the organization and coordinating all calls for the hospital staff and departments. This position receives the incoming calls and appropriately handles inquiries made by patients and their family members. In addition, this position may perform certain administrative and secretarial duties as needed.
Provides flexibility as both receptionist for the main hospital lobby, as well as operator. Answers any incoming calls to the hospital and directs them to the proper person. Announces all hospital emergency codes when necessary. Assists in handling the firebox devices. Performs mailroom functions as needed. Directs visitors and patients to all areas of the hospital. Supports and works with the volunteers. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
1 year of clerical and office support experience preferred.
High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
Licenses / Certifications:
If applicable, the individual performing this job may reasonably anticipate coming into contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials. Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control. Must have good disposition, be able to handle stressful situations and remain calm and in control at all times.
