System Director of Neurocritical Care and Emergency Neurology Services –Westchester Medical Center-Valhalla, NY Westchester Medical Center is seeking a System Director for Neurocritical Care and Emergency Neurology Services. The System Director (Director) of Neurocritical Care will lead the development and execution of NCC services within WMCHealth through clinical standardization or protocols, definition of scope of services and detail scope of practice for clinical providers. The Director will be working closely with Neurosurgery and Neurology as well as Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Neurological Surgery, Vascular Surgery, General Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Internal and Critical Care Medicine, Radiology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Palliative Care. The Director will build relationships to simplify care of critically ill patients according to evidence-based practice and a patient centric model. This role includes the oversight and teaching of Advanced Practice Practitioners, providers, fellows, medical residents, nursing and ancillary staff in the practice of Neurocritical Care. The Director is responsible for coordinating clinical activities and resources for the NCC Service specific to their expertise as well as effectively lead in the NCC meetings, peer review process, and timely responding to issues therein as needed. In addition to the leadership role, the physician will provide clinical services as a Neurointensivist in the treatment and management of patients with complex diseases requiring intensive care. Oversight and further development of the Neuro-Step Down unit including the institution of new clinical protocols and workflow as well as appropriate staffing will also be required. In order to standardize the practice of Neurocritical Care at the Valhalla campus, the role involves streamlining and improving operational effectiveness in the delivery of emergency neurology services in both general and stroke neurology across the health network. Therefore, the Director will provide administrative oversight of neurology tele-health, operational processes, and standardization of clinical protocols in order to measure, track and improve processes across WMC Health Network. In addition, System Director for Neurocritical Care and Emergency Neurology Services will oversee the growth of services with our key regional partners.
