Job Details:

The Nurse Aide Training Program Coordinator is responsible for the organization, administration, review, development and planning, and general effectiveness of the Nurse Aide Training Program Assistant (CNA) program. This position assists with the coordination of all educational components associated with the CNA and other Health Career Certification Programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives DOH approval to any course content when necessary.
  • Coordinates the academic, didactic, laboratory and clinical education within the CNA program.
  • Collaborates with CNA instructors to create and maintain up-to date course syllabi to include level schedules, course descriptions, textbooks, prerequisites, clinical hours to prepare students for the NYS Certified Nurse aid exam.
  • Manages and directs program instructors to include the preparation of course material and other applicable processes and procedures.
  • Directs the assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Establishes, maintains and submits accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates the distribution and collation of student evaluations of course and clinical/lab faculty.
  • Communicates with students regarding program quality and addresses any student issues, concerns, special needs and test reviews.
  • Coordinates the required elements of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program curriculum.
  • Develops new courses, curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools.
  • Assists with the preparation of course proposals, curriculum updates and the construction of degree and certificate programs.
  • Integrates knowledge of industry trends and professional training to continuously improve program quality.
  • Coordinates corrections from faculty responsible for teaching specific units/sections.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinates with Prometric to schedule exam dates, etc.
  • Maintains school records in compliance with New York State program expectations and prepares reports as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

Two years LTC/SNF teaching experience or related experience preferred. Current New York State RN licensure required.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required or related field preferred.
