Job Summary:
Under the supervision of attending physician(s) and in accordance with New York State laws, the Nurse Practitioner will provide cardiac care for a mid-size cardiology practice in Rockland County, NY. General responsibilities include examining patients, formulating diagnoses, developing a treatment plan for patients, assisting the attending physician in performing cardiac imaging, and documenting patient progress and cardiac care.
Responsibilities:
Performs history and physical examinations, and requests and analyzes laboratory and/or imaging data to assess patient’s needs and prepare the best medical treatment plan in accordance with accepted medical practices; Documents patient progress and care to communicate information to other health care providers and ensure an accurate record of activity in compliance with established regulations. Keeps abreast of advancements in the cardiovascular field and assists physicians and patients predominantly in the office setting but may be utilized to assist with hospital rounds.
Experience:
Knowledge of clinical cardiac practices, ability to make accurate medical diagnoses, ability to communicate well and relate to patients, ability to work well with physicians and other health care providers, ability to effectively use computer applications in performing work assignments; ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position.
Qualifications:
Must possess or be eligible for a NYS Nurse Practitioner license; cardiology experience preferred.
