Starting as a new nurse, I was worried I wouldn’t have the knowledge or resources I needed to do my job well. Coming to WMC, I found a group of educators, managers, directors, and co-workers who not only oriented me to the hospital but modeled compassion and work ethic through their non-judgmental advice, encouragement, and availability to me. I feel empowered to give my patients the very best care with the help of all my fellow WMC employees. Now, I enjoy helping new nurses whenever I can, so they may feel as appreciated and valued as I do every day.

I’m proud to be a part of WMCHealth, both as an HR Coordinator and as a parent who trusted this hospital for my son’s delivery. Working in HR, I get to witness firsthand the dedication our staff shows every day, and I am inspired by how committed we are to patient-centered CARE and professional growth. Being part of a supportive, innovative team that prioritizes the well-being of both patients and employees makes my work incredibly fulfilling. Personally, the experience of delivering my son here only deepened my respect for WMCHealth’s compassion and expertise. Knowing I am part of an organization that not only cares for its community but also offers a supportive environment for families like mine gives me great pride. WMCHealth isn’t just where I work; it’s a place that reflects the values I believe in and am honored to represent.

Growing up in Rockland County, WMCHealth has been a staple in the community and a big part of my family’s care. For years, my family struggled to understand my profession as an HR professional and what it is that I do. Now, I do not struggle to explain my role. I simply say that I work at Good Samaritan Hospital, and this lights my family up. They are proud that I work for such a prestigious institution in our community.

I am proud to be WMCHealth because I get to be part of a bigger story and assist those employees, who in turn provide our community with life-saving CARE when in need.

Since starting nursing school, I have always wanted to work at WMCHealth. When we would go around the classroom and share what kind of nurse we wanted to be, everyone had specialties selected, whether it was pediatrics, emergency room, or behavioral health. My response was always, “I don’t really know, as long as I am at Westchester Medical Center.” I knew that at Westchester I would have the opportunity to work in almost any area and be able to help some of the most complex patients in our community. 

I started my career at WMCHealth in the Neurocritical Care Intensive Care Unit and was given the opportunity to work in a leadership position here in the Intraabdominal Transplant and Surgical Oncology Unit. I love that Westchester gave me the skills and tools to grow in my career, and I feel very lucky to work for an organization that has supported my professional development. The team at 7 North is truly a family; we all work together towards our ultimate goal of providing the best care to our community.
