Summary:
The Cardiac Physician Assistant functions to support the practice of the attending surgeons in the management of the Pre-Operative and Post-Operative patient in all areas of Cardiovascular Care including but not limited to the CVICU, Cardiac Surgery step down unit and cardiovascular clinic. The scope of practice will comply with all state, federal and local laws. Their practice will also be subject to the regulations and bylaws of the hospital and medical staff specifically, as delineated in the Board of Medical Examiners of NY. If applicable, the individual performing this job may reasonably anticipate coming into contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials. Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
