Meet our Nurse Recruitment Team
Melissa Verdi, BSN, RN- Nurse Recruiter, Westchester Medical Center
Melissa has been the Nurse Recruiter at WMC since 2000. She has recruited many of the high-quality, dedicated nursing staff currently on board at Westchester Medical Center. Along with recruiting, Melissa functions as an advocate for the nursing staff. Melissa earned a Bachelor’s of Nursing from American University and started her career as a Staff Nurse at WMC. She worked as a Nurse Clinician in Dialysis and was promoted to the Head Nurse of that department. She then continued her career as a Head Nurse on the Medical/Surgical Unit. Melissa was one of the founding officers for the Hudson Valley Recruiters Association and was Vice President for over 7 years for the association. “I will work hard to find the right position that matches both your qualifications and passion for nursing.”
Dawn Weissinger, BSN, RN- Nurse Recruiter, Northern Region
Dawn was brought on board as an RN Recruiter for the WMCHealth Network, serving MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie and Health Alliance in Kingston, NY in June 2019. Since graduating with honors with her RN in 2013, Dawn has served the community in her role as an outpatient pain management and rheumatology infusion RN. In 2014, she joined the team at Bon Secours Community Hospital, where she served the needs of the mentally ill population and their families as a Behavioral Health Nurse. During this time, she received awards for her advocacy and hard work, including the Physician-Nominated Collaboration Award and the Daisy Award for RN Excellence. “I am continuing my service and advocacy for others by actively recruiting and providing new opportunities for RNs to advance their careers and provide quality care in the community.”
Jessica Hannon, BSN, RN, Nurse Recruiter, Charity
Jessica has been a registered nurse since 2015 and has been with the WMCHealth Network for over 2 years, as the Clinical ConnectCare Educator and now the Nurse Recruiter serving Good Samaritan Hospital, Saint Anthony Community Hospital, and Bon Secours Community Hospital. Jessica graduated from the accelerated BSN program at Mount Saint Mary College and previously worked at Lenox Hill Hospital as a Medical/Surgical Nurse. Jessica has been in the role of Nurse Recruiter since April of 2019. “I am no longer a nurse at the bedside, now I am recruiting; making a difference in the lives of the nurses I hire and the communities the Network is privileged to serve.”
