I am not clinical, but I am so passionate about the work done here by everyone, whether you are patient facing or not.
My CARE story started many years ago on March 5, 1998. I was in a near-fatal car accident and transported by medivac to Westchester Medical Center. I spent 89 days in the hospital where the teams here put me back together and helped me heal.
That crash changed my life—and Westchester Medical Center saved my life.
This is why I came to work here many years later, and why I am proud to be part of the WMCHealth family. Every member of our dedicated team is an important source of CARE, expertise, support, hope and healing during stressful, emotional times for both patients and families.
My experience showed me that patients and families don’t forget the CARE they receive.
I didn’t forget the aide that took the time to wash, brush and braid my hair after weeks of it being dirty.
I didn’t forget the physical therapist, whose guidance and encouragement are among the reasons I was able to walk again.
I didn’t forget the many doctors and surgeons whose incredible skills and calming words inspired hope in a very scared 18-year-old girl.
I didn’t forget the nurse that sat with me and comforted me after nightmares night after night about being trapped in my car.
Your talents, energy, compassion, teamwork, and commitment to CARE are so important to so many and the impact of the work you do is profoundly infinite.
26 years of thank you will never be enough…..You save lives. You improve lives. You change lives.
